A standout landmark to the south of Ottawa along the Rideau River, the Vimy Memorial Bridge (previously the Strandherd-Armstrong Bridge) is a multimodal bridge that accommodates the needs of everyday commuters with multiple vehicle lanes, a designated bus lane, bicycle lanes, and a pedestrian walkway.
In 2015 the Vimy Memorial Bridge was the third in Canada to receive the Gustav Lindenthal Medal, showcasing technical and material innovation, a seamless integration into the environment, and aesthetic merit.
