Lansdowne

Nestled between the Rideau Canal and the Glebe, Lansdowne is a mixed-use multi-building development south of downtown Ottawa. The striking addition of the porous structure, known as the Veil, encompassing the south stands, combined with new residential and retail spaces between Bank Street and Queen Elizabeth Drive, introduced a welcoming environment for various events year-round.

SERVICES

Gradient Wind provided comprehensive wind and snow engineering studies ranging from pedestrian level wind studies on the residential buildings along Bank Street, to snow load studies on the Veil. The wind and snow studies were performed using a combination of computer-based testing, such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Snow Accumulation Modelling (SAM), as well as testing of a physical model at Gradient Wind’s in-house wind tunnel.
